Jay is part of the second-generation ownership of Generations Healthcare Management and has been working at Generations with his family since 1993. Prior to his work at Generations and upon receiving his law degree, Jay spent three years in the tax department at Ernst & Young in Cleveland. Working with his family and helping carry on a special legacy started by his father, Robert Coury, has been one of the most rewarding parts of Jay’s job.
Jay’s experience working with Seniors was shaped at a young age growing up in a family-owned business. Whether it was working nights stripping and waxing floors at the facilities on summer break from high school or working in the accounting office during college summer breaks, Jay learned what the profession was all about from the ground up. It gave him a special appreciation for all the hard work, dedication and teamwork involved in caring for people every day.
“I truly value what we do every day at Generations in facilitating the care of our residents,” Jay says, “and giving them and their families peace of mind that they are well taken care of in a supportive and caring environment. That’s what it’s all about.”
In addition to his work at Generations, since 2012 Jay has been a board member at Cuyahoga Community College Foundation. In addition, he was a Trustee at Cuyahoga Community College from 2002 to 2012 including Board Chairman from 2007 to 2009. When he’s not working, Jay values his time with his wife Maureen and their rescue Beagle mix, George.
