Generations Senior Living Employee Honored as OHCA Assisted Living Excellence Award Winner

Ohio's largest long-term and post-acute organization honored Fred Abraham as a 2022 OHCA Assisted Living Excellence Award Winner during special ceremonies in Columbus on July 12th.

The Ohio Health Care Association OHCA presented the award to Fred Abraham during the Association’s 2022 Assisted Living Summit as part of the 2022 OHCA Excellence Awards, recognizing that quality professionals are the backbone of the long-term and post-acute care community. The association awarded six individual awards and one team award this year during a celebration luncheon. 

Fred has prepared delicious, home-cooked meals for the residents of Generations Senior Living for more than 10 years as well as catering all in-house professional events, private dining experiences, and even his local chamber special occasions! Fred’s previous experience in meal preparation includes nearly a decade of managing an upscale restaurant and catering business, which served such notable clients as dignitaries from The United Arab Emirates, professional sports teams, and Hollywood stars. 

Fred’s favorite thing to do is put on cooking demonstrations for the residents. He will feature a favorite of someone's choosing or one of his own family recipes. He loves and promotes resident engagement with and about our universal love of food. Chef Fred will soon launch a video series "Chef Fred’s Corner" where his cooking demonstration will feature a resident and their favorite family recipe passed down from generation to generation. Ask Fred what his secret ingredient is and he will readily tell you.... all food should be prepared with passion and love. 

The Ohio Health Care Association is a nonprofit organization representing more than 1200 skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, home care and hospice providers, and residences and waiver providers for persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities. It is the largest long-term and post-acute care organization in the state, and the only chartered Ohio affiliate of the American Health Care Association, representing over 14,000 facilities nationwide.
